Acne & Scars

Acne leaves two types of damage: active lesions and the marks they leave behind. Both have different mechanisms. Treating them the same way is the first mistake.

Post-inflammatory melanin, the brown mark left after a spot, forms in the dermis at a depth of 1.5 mm. Vitamin C or retinol serums reach 0.2 mm. It's simple maths: they cannot solve a problem they cannot reach.

Atrophic scars (hollows) are a loss of tissue. The only way to fill them is to stimulate the production of new collagen from within. LaseMD Lutronic does this through fractional micro-ablation. Genius RF does it through radiofrequency. These are not "improved" treatments: they are treatments that work at the right depth.

It's not your skin that is difficult. It's the method that didn't go deep enough.

Texture & Pores

Skin that looks thick, pores visible even under foundation, an uneven surface in raking light. It's not a question of hydration. It's a build-up of dead cells and oxidised sebum in the follicle.

Pores don't "shrink". Their apparent size depends on their content: a full pore looks large, an empty pore looks small. The work consists of emptying and tightening, not shrinking a fixed anatomical structure.

Hydrafacial does exactly that in one session: mechanical extraction by suction, salicylic acid to dissolve the content, peptide infusion to tighten. Visible result as you leave. LaseMD goes further on surface texture by remodelling the tissue over 4 to 6 weeks.

A clean pore looks half the size. Before trying to shrink pores, you need to empty them.

Firmness & Contour

From age 25, collagen production drops by about 1% a year. You don't see it day to day. But over 10 years, that's 10% less structure. A blurring jawline, cheeks that drop: it's not ageing, it's loss of tissue.

"Firming" creams nourish the epidermis. Collagen is in the dermis and hypodermis. The collagen molecule is too large to pass through the skin barrier topically: that's physics, not a formulation flaw.

Lutronic's Genius RF delivers radiofrequency at a depth of 2.5 mm through microneedles. The heat targets existing collagen and triggers a repair response that lasts 6 months. HIFU goes even further: it reaches the SMAS at 4.5 mm, the same layer as a surgical facelift, without an incision.

Collagen doesn't pass through the skin. You have to go and get it where it is.

Spots & Complexion

Pigment spots, whether caused by the sun, inflammation or hormones, all have the same origin: overactive melanocytes. The trigger varies, the mechanism is identical.

Treatment depends on the type of spot and its depth. Epidermal spots (shallow) respond well to LaseMD. Dermal spots (deeper, often grey) require a longer protocol. Before any treatment, you need to identify exactly what you are dealing with: that is the purpose of the diagnosis.

A note on melasma: it is a hormonal dysregulation. Laser treatments improve it but do not "eliminate" it for good without managing the trigger (sun, hormones, inflammation). Any promise to the contrary is inaccurate.

Identify the type of spot before treating. The same machine can help or make things worse depending on the diagnosis.

Permanent hair removal · House of Highline

Permanent hair removal

Permanent laser hair removal works on the principle of selective photothermolysis: the light targets the melanin in the hair follicle without touching the surrounding skin. Effectiveness depends almost entirely on the quality of the machine.

Lutronic's Clarity II combines two wavelengths: Alexandrite 755 nm for light skin, Nd:YAG 1064 nm for dark skin. This dual wavelength is what sets it apart from single-wavelength devices: it covers all skin types without compromising power.

The number of sessions (6 to 8) is not a sales estimate: it's the biological cycle of the hair follicle. Only hairs in the active growth phase (anagen) respond to the laser. The other cycles last 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area, hence the interval between sessions.

6 to 8 sessions is the follicle's cycle. Not a made-up number.

Body contouring

Localised fat on the stomach, flanks or thighs resists diet and exercise because it is genetically determined. The body mobilises it last during lipolysis, however intense the effort.

Z-Lipo cryolipolysis cools the fat fold to -8°C. At this temperature, fat cells trigger apoptosis, programmed cell death. The cells are then eliminated naturally by the lymphatic system over 6 to 12 weeks. Only fat cells are affected: the skin and other tissues are not damaged.

Two important points: cryolipolysis treats localised areas, not overall excess weight. And the result is permanent for the eliminated cells, but the remaining cells can grow if your diet changes significantly after the treatment.

These are fat cells destroyed for good. Not weight loss, but a structural reduction.
