Acne and acne scars

Acne leaves two types of damage: active lesions and the marks they leave behind. Both have different mechanisms. Treating them the same way is the first mistake.

What happens in the skin.

Post-inflammatory melanin, the brown mark left after a spot, forms in the dermis at a depth of 1.5 mm. Vitamin C or retinol serums reach 0.2 mm. It's simple maths: they cannot solve a problem they cannot reach.

Atrophic scars (hollows) are a loss of tissue. The only way to fill them is to stimulate the production of new collagen from within. LaseMD Lutronic does this through fractional micro-ablation. Genius RF does it through radiofrequency. These are not "improved" treatments: they are treatments that work at the right depth.

It's not your skin that is difficult. It's the method that didn't go deep enough.

The right treatments

Frequently asked questions

LaseMD Lutronic

Does it hurt?

The sensation remains moderate and bearable: slight warmth and tingling during the session.

How many sessions?

Generally 3 to 5 sessions 2 to 4 weeks apart, depending on the indication. For a radiance boost, the laser alone may be enough; for wrinkles and spots, it is combined with LaseMD skincare.

Will my skin be marked?

Slight redness may last 48 h and the tiny laser marks remain visible for about ten days. No downtime.

Is it suitable for my skin colour?

Yes: LaseMD suits all skin types, from the lightest to the darkest, and can be done all year round. A diagnosis at the clinic is required before any laser treatment.

Genius RF

When will I see results?

An improvement from the first session. Collagen production shows a month and a half later, and the result is optimal at 6 months. Then, one maintenance session a year.

Does it hurt?

An anaesthetic cream is applied before the session. You feel slight pressure and warmth.

Is it suitable for dark skin?

Yes. All skin types can be treated, at any age, including Black or Asian skin, which is often harder to treat with lasers.

Are there any after-effects?

Some redness for 48 h, sometimes slight swelling. No burns, scabs or peeling.
